Osman Bayezid Osmanoglu is their first child born, during the exile of the Ottoman dynasty. In 1924, he came to the world in France. He then moved to New York with his mother and brother. Osmanoğlu worked in the United States for 45 years in libraries, translated books to 15 languages. He retired in 1997.
The ban on returning the country’s male members to the country was abolished in 1974. Nevertheless, firstly he visited Turkey in 1985. This visit was at the request of her mother. Afterwards he stated that he came to Turkey regularly every year but never thought of settle. In September 2009, Osman Ertuğrul Efendi died in Istanbul. Osmanoglu was the dynasty ruler instead of Ertuğrul Efendi.
Osman Bayezid Osmanoğlu was the third generation grandson of Sultan Abdulmecid Khan, the 31st Sultan of the Ottoman State. He was also the 44th head of the dynasty. For a while, there was ongoing his illness. Osman Bayezid Osmanoglu died in New York City. He was at the age of 93. Osmanoğlu’s funeral prayer was held in Eyüp Sultan Mosque in New York on January 9th. After funeral prayer he was buried in the family cemetery in Long Island.
